This is a practical design course which aims to introduce you to the essential key skills required to begin a career in the design industry. You will be encouraged to develop imaginative and creative ideas while working on a series of design projects. You will learn how to research and source relevant information for interior design materials, finishes and products.

You will study: Applied drawing skills; Technical drawing and perspective drawing; Design in context; Design realisation; Design in action; Spatial design studies; Interior design projects; 3D basic construction skills; Model making general; Location drawing; Residential interior project; Computer aided design (CAD); Space planning; Maths craft 1; Sustainable design

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 including Art and Design, Graphic Communication or Design and Manufacture plus one or more from English or another English based subject, Maths and/or a science subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4 or 5. Interview. Portfolio.
