This course will give you the skills to be a successful photographer. The course combines the traditional skills of image making with those needed to work in an ever-changing digital environment. You’ll learn about photography styles and gain skills for working in the sector. You’ll learn through work placement, groupwork, lectures, industry visits and guest speakers.

You will study a range of photographic disciplines and develop skills for working in the sector, for example, Studio Still Life, Portraiture, Architecture, Landscape, Moving Image, and Image Editing. On this practical, project-based course, our experienced lecturers will support you as you learn through lectures, tutorials, work experience opportunities, groupwork, industry visits, expeditions, and from guest speakers.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher; or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship; or Photography with Digital Media (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Portfolio of work. Interview.

You must own or have access to a DSLR camera for the duration of this course.
