If you are unsure which subject area within Fashion and Textiles is best for you, the Foundation in Fashion and Textiles is a great place to start to build your creative portfolio. This course is an ideal entry level which will enable you to gain a wide variety of skills before progression onto one of our HND programmes. It is both a creative and technical based course which provides basic knowledge and an understanding in Fashion Design, Fashion Textiles, Fashion Communications and Fashion Technology. This course is unique to Glasgow Clyde College and is the only course in Scotland to deliver this programme within industry standard workshops. You will be taught by a team of dedicated professionals with a depth of industry experience.

You will have the opportunity to work through the design process from research and design development to creating basic garments through step-by-step pattern cutting and garment construction. Alongside this you will explore fashion illustration and fashion design skills.

You will also develop skills in textiles through drawing, surface design and fabric manipulation exploring woven, knitted, embroidered and printed textiles.
You will be based in our studios and workshops and will be taught with the emphasis on learning practical skills.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects from English, Maths or Art and Design at National 4 or 5 is preferred.
