The NQ Tourism and Events aims to provide a solid foundation to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to progress to employment or further study in the travel and tourism and events sectors.

The course covers subject areas that are important in all areas of the Tourism and Events industries. You will study travel and tourism in the UK, events organisation, corporate events, leisure and business tourist destinations, customer care, selling skills, events costing and marketing in travel and tourism.
Also covered in the course are the production and service of alcoholic beverages, an introduction to the heritage industry in Scotland and work placement.

Travel and Tourism in the UK; Events Industry: An Overview; Leisure and Business Tourist Destinations Event Organisation; Corporate Events: An Introduction; Heritage Industry In Scotland; Alcoholic Beverages; Events Costing: An Introduction; Marketing In Travel and Tourism: An Introduction; Work Placement; Skills for Customer Care; Selling Skills; Travel and Tourism: Enhancing Skills for Employment.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English and Maths or relevant qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Reference and Interview.
