This course will help you to develop the skills required for employment in the Aviation, or Airport Ground Industry. It covers everything from customer service and employability skills, to health and safety procedures.
You'll study:
Introduction to Airline/Aviation Operations; Airline Health, Safety and Security; Airline Emergency Procedures; Crew Room Duties; Role of Air Cabin Crew / Standard Operating Procedures; Preparation for Employment as Air Cabin Crew and Airport Ground Operations; Travel and Tourism Industry; Selling Skills.
You will also learn languages as part of the course.
3 subjects at National 5 including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to successful interview.
Due to Airline Employment Restrictions candidates should be: aged 17 or above when starting the course, be taller than 5 feet 2 inches, have a valid passport and be fluent in spoken and written English. Some airlines have additional criteria. You must be able to swim 25 metres, and tread water for 1 minute. Some airlines may have other entry criteria.
This course prepares you for a career as air cabin crew or airport ground staff. Successful students can progress onto NC International Travel, or HND in Travel and Tourism at the college.
