Agricultural advisers give business and technical advice and support to farmers. They also give advice to companies which produce animal feed, seeds, fertilisers, weedkillers and other materials used on farms. They may also advise landowners, environmental agencies and conservation bodies.

Starting salaries for agricultural advisers in the UK tend to be in the range £20,000 to £22,000 a year. With experience, this can rise to around £28,000 a year and senior advisers and consultants can earn up to £50,000 a year, sometimes more.
