Content

This course will help you develop multiple skills and knowledge of materials and processes relevant to the Model Making Industry, whether for film/TV props, miniatures, prototyping, engineering, architecture, or exhibition models.

As part of the course, previous students have had the opportunity to work with live clients throughout the UK and Europe and have made industry visits to London, Liverpool, Manchester, Barcelona and beyond.

What you will study:

You'll take projects from research to a final model, using concepts, sketch design, maquettes and presentation artwork to support your finished model.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your 2D skills using traditional and CAD packages, as well as a wide variety of hand-tools and specialist equipment in the dedicated workshops. You'll be involved in the development of numerous design projects from start to finish, with an emphasis on the production of 3D work. You’ll also use a laser cutter to produce architectural and product prototypes.
