Glasgow Kelvin College has five campuses located in the centre, north and east of Glasgow - City Campus, Springburn, Easterhouse, East End and West End. There are also 40 affiliated learning centres located in the city centre and north and east Glasgow.

The college was formed from the merger of John Wheatley, North Glasgow and Stow Colleges in November 2013.

There are around 20,000 students at the college.

Courses and subjects

A wide range of qualifications are available, including National Certificate (NC), National Qualification (NQ), Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ), Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND) and professional qualifications. The college has links with Glasgow Caledonian, Strathclyde and West of Scotland Universities, as well as the Open University.

Courses are taught through the following faculties; Business and Creative Industries; Business and Industry (Commercial); Community and Flexible Learning; Engineering, Construction and Science; and Health, Care and Learning Development.

Glasgow’s three colleges, Glasgow Kelvin College, Glasgow Clyde College and City of Glasgow College have formed a partnership to deliver Foundation Apprenticeships to students across Greater Glasgow. 

Facilities and services

 'L'Oréal Hair Salon' East End Campus offers solutions and the latest trends in haircuts, colour, hair care and styling for a total look. Trust the professional expertise of your hairdresser and you will find innovative L'Oréal Professionnel products to achieve the best look for you.

‘Elegance Beauty’ at the Easterhouse Campus has a nail bar, beauty room, make-up studio and hair salon, for the advanced stages of beauty students’ training, and is open to the public.

The college also has training restaurants for hospitality students; Park Restaurant at Easterhouse and Rowan Restaurant at the East End campuses. They are also open to the public one day per week.

Glasgow Kelvin College recently launched Cycle Hub for students, staff and community, with the purpose of encouraging healthy sustainable lifestyles, and to play a part in making Glasgow a sustainable bike-friendly city.

Specialisms

Glasgow Kelvin College is part of a successful partnership with the BBC delivering their Creative Industries Modern Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media Skills, it provides excellent opportunities for talented students to train in the media industry.
