The course is designed to give students further practical experience and knowledge of horse care and equitation following the NC Horse Care or Advanced Certificate Horse Care.

Equine Fitness, Equine Selection, Equine Nutrition, Equine Anatomy and Physiology, Equine Health, Equine Facility Management, Preparation of the Competition Horses, Equitation, Practical Stable Management, Using Software Application Packages, Customer Care, Graded Unit 1, Workplace experience.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers at CC including English or a science subject plus English and Maths at National 5 (if not held at Higher). Recorded evidence of riding ability, to include a minimum of walk, trot, canter and jumping, should be submitted with the application.

NC Horse Care or Horse Care (Advanced Certificate) may be accepted.

BHS Stage 1 or 2 would be an advantage or the Pony Club B test.
