The BSc Earth Sciences is a new cutting-edge degree that prepares you for advanced careers in the Earth sciences and beyond.

It carefully balances data science, programming, and computing skills with traditional field and laboratory skills, along with a knowledge of Earth sciences.

You will the skills needed to answer the important questions in the Earth sciences.

Entry Requirements

2026 entry requirements

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBB (first sitting) or AABB (two sittings) including 2 from Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics plus National 5 Maths at A and English at C.

For second year entry you would require 2 Advanced Highers at BB from Maths*, Biology, Chemistry*, Geography and Physics* (*at least one is required) plus 5 Highers at AABBB including 3 from Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics.

Widening Access entry:
4 Highers at BBBB (two sittings) including 2 from Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Physics plus National 5 Maths at A and English at C. BBB must be achieved in one sitting.
