This course will enhance your experience and broaden knowledge opportunities linked with small and large machine use and additional practical skills in preparation for working as an employee/contractor/sub-contractor in the forestry and related industry.

Units may include:

Understanding physiology and identification of trees and plants; Forest Harvesting Machinery skills and project; Introduction to Arboriculture skills and techniques; Advanced Chainsaw operations; Uses of trees and plants; Introduction to essential technologies with in the Forestry and Arboriculture industry; Understanding and operation of machines related to secondary forest industries Forest Harvesting; Machinery skills and project; Forestry Academic skills.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 from English, Maths, Biology, Geography and/or a science subject.
