This is an exciting new course that helps you to develop your knowledge and understanding of animal biology. We will also look at how animals interact with their environment and current issues in animal welfare and environmental conservation. The course will help you gain the practical skills needed at Higher level and it is designed to help you progress onto HNC Animal Care or HND Veterinary Nursing.

The course includes units at higher level (level 6) such as:
Environmental Science; Biology; Chemistry; Veterinary Terminology, and a number of level 5 units such as:
Animal physiology; Microbiology; Nutrition and Health; Countryside interpretation; An overview of Land-based industries.

As part of the course, you will also complete a work placement in the animal care or environmental conservation field.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English, Maths and Biology, Chemistry or Physics. Or NC Animal Care or NQ Applied Science. Interview.
