Feeding, Accommodation and Handling, Small Animal Breeding and Neonatal Care, Safe Working Practices, Reptiles and Amphibians, Ornamental Fish and Avian Care, Anatomy and Physiology; and Parasitology. Practical classes include routine health care and feeding along with handling of animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, ferrets, birds and reptiles.
2 subjects at National 5 and 1 at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4 or 5. Interview.
Boarding establishments, SSPCA, Guide Dogs and pet shops. Graduates often apply to progress to HNC Animal Care (see separate requirements).
