Content

This course establishes the principles of a wide range of animal care subjects including healthcare and husbandry. The course develops knowledge in specialist areas such as anatomy, small animal feeding, breeding, parasitology and exotic pets as well as safe working practices. It is delivered with a balance of practical and theoretical classes.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 plus 1 at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4 or 5.

Progression Routes

Boarding establishments, SSPCA, Guide Dogs and pet shops. Graduates often apply to progress to HNC Animal Care (see separate requirements).
