This course is designed to develop candidates’ knowledge of modern agricultural principles and systems and to give the individual an insight into agriculture in the UK. Content includes Livestock Husbandry, Health and Welfare, Beef and Suckled Calf Production, Livestock Reproduction and Digestive Systems, Sheep Production, Combinable Crop Production, Crop Production Equipment, Soils and Fertility, Grassland Production and Record Keeping.

Core Skills for working in the land-based industry may be a timetabled part of this course.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
