HTC (Highland Theological College)

HTC is an evangelical and non-denominational college located in Dingwall and is a partner college of the University of the Highlands and Islands network. They also have a campus in the Central Belt, HTC Paisley.

It provides the opportunity to study the Christian faith from a Reformed perspective in the context of a worshipping community.

Courses and subjects

Most courses are offered at degree level, but there is also an Access to Christian Theology course. There is also the opportunity to study postgraduate research degrees.

In addition to theology, there are degrees available in a range of other subjects including archaeology, history, literature, politics, philosophy, criminology, cultural studies, and sociology.

Facilities and services

The college library is well equipped and contains several special collections, with both print and digital resources available.

There is a comfortable student common room with self-catering facilities and a conference room, which is also used as a chapel area for regular worship and missions services.

The majority of HTC’s students study by distance learning, making use of state-of-the-art technology and excellent tutor support.

HTC-Paisley offers students in the Central Belt a campus environment in which to study. Classrooms are fully equipped with video-conference facilities and a library area.

Specialisms

The college is a recognised provider of training and education for the Associated Presbyterian Churches, Church of Scotland and United Free Church of Scotland.
