The NQ Health and Social Care programme is aimed at school leavers, adult returners and those working in the Health and Social Care industries. It is the first level of programme which allows health and social care workers to register with the SSSC. Learners will gain knowledge, understanding, skills and attributes that will help them to contribute to the care and support of people in the social services and health sectors.

The programme is designed to allow successful students to progress into work within the health and social care sector, or further their studies in areas such as Nursing, Social Work and Youth Work. The programme includes three Highers in Psychology, Care and Childcare and Development.

Entry Requirements

5 subjects at National 5 including an English based subject; or NC Child, Health and Social Care, or SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6. Interview.

Progression Routes

This course is designed to provide you with a qualification suitable for entry to nurse training but may also allow progression to the HNC Social Care, BA Health Studies or BA Child and Youth Studies.
