The NC Childhood Practice course will give you a broad understanding of all aspects of child development. It can open doors to a wide range of career prospects and help you to choose the right pathway for you.
You will spend a day a week in a work placement in a nursery or early years class from October until June, in addition to your 3 classroom days in college. You'll get a truly hands-on learning experience, working with professionals to understand the links between theory and practice.
Completing this course will help you gain entry to Higher Education courses, degrees and teacher training.
3 subjects at National 5 including English; or NQ Access to Care (Health and Early Years) (Level 5).
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7.
