This National Progression Award (NPA) in Criminology allows you to study criminology, including the complex nature of crime and the problems of measuring crime. It is delivered via blended learning, with some time spent on campus at Anniesland and some time online via Microsoft Teams.

There will be a combination of practical and knowledge-based assessments. This will involve both open and closed-book assessments.

Note: The nature of criminology is challenging and includes sensitive topics.

You will complete three SQA units:

Criminology: Nature and Extent of Crime; Crime in Society; Criminology: Crime Control Strategies.

You will also develop a range of knowledge and skills specific to the study of criminology.

Attendance: Tuesday evenings.

Relevant subjects at SCQF Level 5. Higher English or a social science subject preferred.
