his accredited course is designed for anyone interested in developing their Counselling Skills, either for career or work enhancement, or for personal growth, development, and understanding, or as a starting point for a career change. Please note that this qualification will not qualify you as a counselor, but it could be the starting point on that journey.

This course will provide you with opportunities to become familiar with and practice with a wide range of counselling skills and approaches while gaining an understanding of the theories of counselling.

Attendance: 9am-1pm Saturday mornings, or distance learning.

Entry Requirements

Higher English, or Introduction to Counselling (Level 5) or other counselling award or qualification at SCQF Level 5. Interview.

Progression Routes

As the course is awarded, validated, and accredited in association with Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA), successful students will be Awarded a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, with 40 SCQF credits at SCQF Level 8.

The course is also recognised as an entry award for the MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Strathclyde.
