This course is designed to be delivered entirely online to allow flexibility for you as you will already be working or volunteering within the community.

The programme introduces you to Community Learning and Development (CLD) theory and practice, with particular focus on involvement in community capacity building, which is one of the three main strands of CLD.

This level 6 award will prepare you for possible progression to other programmes at an equal or increased SCQF level in the field of Community Learning and Development. You are likely to be a mature learner.

The award is suitable for you if you already have some understanding and experience of Community Learning and Development – but have no formal qualifications in the field. Those of you who are employed in the field of CLD, and who achieve a recognised qualification such as this award, may qualify for membership of the Scottish CLD Standards Council.

Entry Requirements

You must be volunteering or working within the community.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
