The Diploma in Higher Education is a full-time course, which is designed to enhance the educational and employment opportunities of anyone who possesses a relevant HNC qualification.

The course is facilitated in partnership with the University of Strathclyde and is provided on a collaborative basis. This ensures that anyone who successfully completes the Diploma award can then move directly into year three of the BA (Hons) Education and Social Services provided by the University.

The awards available via enrolment on the course are as follows:

Diploma in Education and Social Services - SCQF Level 8.
BA in Education and Social Services - SCQF Level 9.
BA (Honours) in Education and Social Services - SCQF Level 10.

What you study: Academic literacy; The Societal Context of Professional Working; Introduction to Integrated services; How people develop and learn; Being professional: working collaboratively; and Workplace learning and Practice 1

Entry Requirements

HNC completed in the last 5 years in one of the following subjects:

Social Services, Healthcare Practice/Care and Administrative Practice, Child Practice/Early Education and Childcare, Additional Support Needs, Occupational Therapy, HNC Working with Communities/Community Education.

Any other relevant HNC qualification with appropriate work experience will be considered.
