On this course you will attend an extensive placement in a childcare setting to support you to complete the full SVQ Level 2 in Social Services Children and Young People.
You will also study a range of other childcare related subjects.
This course can lead to progression to employment as an early years support assistant or a learning care assistant. Progression to level 7 full-time programmes may also be an option.
2 subjects at National 5 or Certificate in Early Education and Childcare; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Selection by interview and pre-entry test.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
The course is run in partnership with Dundee City Council Education Department and leads to a qualification as a Classroom or Support for Learning Assistant and to potential employment.
