Health and social care is provided in settings such as nursing homes, residential homes for the elderly, hospitals and resource centres for people with learning disabilities. The demands for a skilled health and social care workforce are increasing.

This course provides a range of topics related to working in this sector. You will investigate who needs care, what types of care are available and the responsibilities of a care worker.

Care workers must operate from a good ethical value base and so you will study the principles underpinning the Health and Social Care Standards.

During your course, we introduce you to using a range of digital technologies, which will help you get the most from your course and at the same time develop your digital skills. Find out more about key computing skills and essential student skills.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English.
