You'll be at the forefront of the critical social debates defining the 21st century, learning how crime is defined, controlled and regulated in modern society. You'll cover everything from addiction and criminalisation to human rights and climate change.

There's a work placement option, giving you valuable real world experience and networking opportunities. External speakers form a key part of the course. Abertay aim to give you all the essential skills you need to move straight into employment or onto further study.

This is a flexible criminology degree, so you can tailor your studies to suit your career plans.

Entry Requirements

2027 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBBC plus National 5 English and National 4 Maths (National 5 Applications of Maths accepted). National 4 Biology, Chemistry or Physics will be accepted in place of Maths.

Widening access entry: 3 Highers at BBC National 5 English and National 4 Maths (National 5 Applications of Maths accepted). National 4 Biology, Chemistry or Physics will be accepted in place of Maths..

For entry to second year, you must have 3 Advanced Highers at ABB including English or another English based subject and History or Modern Studies.
