This thought-provoking Criminology and Sociology degree covers everything from addiction and criminalisation to human rights and death. You'll learn how to think critically about how people engage and interact with the world around them.

Criminology and Sociology is a flexible degree. For the first two years, everyone studies the same curriculum. In years three and four our academics help you explore areas such as: Gender, crime and victimology; Race and ethnicity; The process of criminalisation; Human rights and politics.

Entry Requirements

2025 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBBB including English or another English based subject plus National 5 English and Maths or Applications of Maths at least at National 4. National 4 Biology, Chemistry or Physics will be accepted in place of Maths.

Widening access entry: 3 Highers at BBC including English or another English based subject at B plus National 5 English and Maths or Applications of Maths at least at National 4. National 4 Biology, Chemistry or Physics will be accepted in place of Maths.

For entry to second year, you must have 3 Advanced Highers at ABB including English or another English based subject and History, Modern Studies, Politics or Psychology.
