The course has been developed to meet the requirements for employment, in relation to understanding the need for Integrated Service delivery within the education and social services sector.
This is a partnership course with the University of Strathclyde, and on successful completion of the Diploma, you can move directly to the third year of the BA (Honours) programme at the University of Strathclyde.
Units Include:
Academic Literacy; The Societal Context of Professional Roles; Introduction to Integrated Services; How People Develop and Learn; Workplace Practice; Being Professional: Working Collaboratively.
There will be a four-week placement as part of the course to observe how services are moving towards integrated provision.
Relevant HNC. Applicants should submit a personal statement, attend an information session and participate in a skills assessment and interview.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
Successful completion of the Diploma allow progression to the University of Strathclyde to complete the BA Education and Social Services. After which you may choose to continue with an application for postgraduate study in courses such as; including Primary Education, Community Development and Learning, Social work, Counselling, Additional Support Needs, Mental Health, Autism, Career Guidance, Criminology and Housing.
