Content

This course is the recognised qualification for a Support worker, working with children and young people. The NC qualification allows you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council at the Support Worker level.

The NC course provides a comprehensive range of topics, both theoretical and work-practice related, that will aid you in developing and enhancing the knowledge, skills, values, and competencies for those wishing to work with, or already working in, a childhood practice setting. Learning will be engaging and interactive, with a wide variety of activities and approaches.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including English, or Preparation for a Career in Childhood Practice (Level 5), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview. Ideally you should have some experience of working with children.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
