This course offers opportunities for you to advance your skills, knowledge and experience to develop a career within Childhood Practice. You will study a range of topics relevant to working with children and young people.

Practical experiences are also an important element of the course. You can either use your employment or alternatively a placement organised by the College (these must be within the Early Years Sector).

Entry Requirements

2 Highers preferably including English; or Foundation Apprentice in Social Services (Children and Young People); or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Pre-entry test.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

Successful completion can facilitate progression to the PDA/HND Childhood Practice (SCQF Level 8) or employment at practitioner level.
