This national 5 level course prepares and equips you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to meet the needs of children, young people and adults who use care and educational services. This course gives you and understanding of what you will need to know to work successfully in a range of care practice settings .The course is taught using a variety of Learning & Teaching methods.
You'll learn about:
Development and Wellbeing of Children and Young People; The Needs of Children and Adults and an Awareness of the Care Services that can meet these needs; Mental Health, Coping Strategies and Wellbeing; Psychological Theories and Sociological Concepts Relevant to Care Practice; The ways in which Positive Care Practice is based on Legislation, Values, Principles, Knowledge and Skills; Communications; Numeracy.
3 subjects at National 4, English preferred; or Transitions 2 Health and Social Care; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4 . Entry subject to interview, personal statement and reference.

After successfully completing this course you will have the knowledge and skills needed to apply for a caring role, or you could develop your skills further by studying another course, such as NC Early Education and Childcare or SWAP Access to Nursing (additional criteria applies).
