The SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Services is designed for individuals who want to start or develop a career in the health and social care sector. This qualification is employment-based, giving you the opportunity to gain essential knowledge, practical experience, and professional skills while preparing for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Subjects covered will include:
First aid; Moving and handling; Health, safety and protection; Communication within a care environment; Equality, Diversity, and Rights; Core skills such as Communications, ICT and Numeracy.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 including English. Previous experience in working in care may be an advantage.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
