Content

On this course you’ll develop an understanding of how children learn and discover how to be in tune with children’s thinking. The course will equip candidates with professional values; practical skills and theoretical knowledge, to work effectively in the changing early learning and childcare sector with a variety of service users. Each week you will spend two days in college and two days on placement in an early years setting or primary school, working with the staff team.

The course includes the PDA Social Services (children and young people) and offers an alternative entry to HNC Childhood Practice Award.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. The course is specifically for adults who have been out of full-time education for at least 5 years. Entry subject to interview and reference.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
