You'll learn about:
The principles and values underlying the care and education of young children; Care in a Contemporary Society; Health, Wellbeing and Safeguarding; Leadership; Lifespan Development: Theoretical Approaches and Support for Play; Learning and Development

This course also includes a childhood practice placement (two days a week) – where you will have the opportunity to relate theory to practice.

You will also be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers preferably including English, or NC Early Education and Childcare, or 1 Higher preferably including English and either Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People) or Social Services and Healthcare. You will attend an interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
