Content

This course is for learners who have an interest in Early Learning and Childcare. The course covers areas including Child Development, Play in Early Learning and Childcare, and Services for Children and Young People. This course is ideally suited for school leaver or adult returners.

You will undertake a programme of SQA units at SCQF Level 6, including: Child Development; Play in Practice; Supporting Children's Rights and Entitlements; Services for Children and Young People; Child Development: Theory.

During this course you'll attend a work placement two days a week.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English, or National 5 Skills for Work Early Education and Childcare; or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People); or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
