This course will provide students with a firm understanding of the expectations and values involved in health and social care roles. The course introduces a variety of care professions across statutory, voluntary and private settings. This will enable a better understanding of complexities of delivering effective care to a variety of service users.
Applicants should enjoy diverse group interaction and be mature enough to work on their own initiative. We look for individuals who are enthusiastic with a positive attitude to learning and can show commitment to this year-long course.
Subjects Include:
The values, principles, and legislation that underpin health and social care; Psychology and sociology; Mental health issues; Essential skills in communication.
2 subjects at National 5, preferably including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
