Grow your knowledge of the expectations and values related to care roles, in preparation for a career in healthcare or social care. You’ll be introduced to the variety of care professions across statutory, voluntary and private settings, which will help you understand the complexities of delivering care to different service users.

You’ll also develop essential skills necessary to apply for a job in the care sector or to continue studying healthcare or social care.

At Aberdeen City Campus subjects include:
Healthcare pathways which will include visits to different health and social care areas; Coping strategies and building resilience; Social care essentials; Social care best practice; Basic first aid; Prevention of infection; Counselling; Digital skills; Numeracy for care.

At Fraserburgh Campus subjects include:
The values, principles, and legislation that underpin health and social care; Mental health issues; Working with individuals with additional support needs; Essential skills for care practice.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5, preferably including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
