Subjects include: play in early learning and childcare, care and feeding of children and young people, development and wellbeing of children and young people, introduction to first aid, child protection and supporting children with additional support needs.

Essential skills in numeracy, communication and ICT are also included.

Candidates are encouraged to participate in volunteering activities to relate theory to practice and develop their caring skills.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry is subject to interview, one satisfactory reference and completion of a short values task.
