This course gives students basic knowledge and skills for moving on to level 6 study and/or an apprenticeship in the early learning and childcare sector.

You will gain an understanding of subjects including Child Development, Values and Principles, Social Influences, and Human Behaviour.

You also have the chance to gain the Skills for Work early learning and childcare award.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry is by interview and a short written task.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
