At this advanced level, you must have a desire to help those who are vulnerable within our society through a career in social work or social care.

This course will increase your understanding of a variety of care contexts and service users, effectively preparing you for further study or employment. You will also investigate care intervention, and the roles and responsibilities across associated professions.

School leavers enthusiastic about working in care or those who would like a career change or have experience of caring for others should apply. You should enjoy diverse group interaction and be mature enough to work on your own initiative.

You will cover a broad range of topics whilst studying this course:

Legislation and Governing Bodies; Psychology and Sociology; Employability Skills; Mental Health & Wellbeing; Communication SCQF Level 6; Numeracy SCQF Level 5.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 at B preferably including English or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.
