We are looking for highly motivated, well-organised, disciplined and caring individuals whose goal it is to work in community, private or public services that support the most vulnerable members of our society to lead a fulfilled and independent life.

Those interested in this course should be ready for a blended learning approach that includes independent study, group work, research activities and presentation skills.

This course enables students to integrate knowledge, theory and practice to gain employment in a social care role, or to progress to further study at university degree level in order to embark on a career in Social work.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, preferably including English plus Maths at National 5; English at National 5 if not held at Higher essential; or Advanced Social Care (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Genuine interest in working with people and good communication skills are essential, references may be required. Ideally you should have some work or volunteering experience within a social care setting.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
