This course is for those who want to work as early learning and childcare practitioners. The award will allow you to work with children and young people aged between 0 and 18 years.

You will learn about the values, principles and laws relevant to a career in the early years sector. After you have completed the course, you can register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at practitioner level.

The course includes:
Lifespan development; Theoretical approaches; Supporting contemporary families; Health, wellbeing and safeguarding.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English; or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship plus Higher English; or NC Childhood Practice (Level 6) or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Experience in a childcare setting, and IT skills desirable. Interview. Written Test.
