The BA Childhood Studies offers you the opportunity to build a career supporting children and their families in a variety of environments.
The course will also deepen your understanding of issues related to childhood and services for children and families.
You will gain an appreciation of the values underpinning children's services and the importance of working in partnership with professionals from different disciplines. You will also address childcare-related management issues.
This qualification is not a nursery or primary teaching qualification and therefore does not provide registration with Scottish Social Services Council as a Lead Practitioner.
HNC Childhood Practice, or other relevant qualifications.

UWS graduates work in the integrated childcare services with children under five or in out-of-school care as well as project work offering support for children and their families. Graduates have embarked on careers as family support workers, early years practitioners and NHS community nursery nurses.
