Year 1:
You will study Introduction to Financial Markets and Economic Principles as well as Global Challenges for Business and The Business of Edinburgh, which introduce key concepts of management and business including strategy, finance, marketing and the management of people. You will also study Accountancy 1A, an Introduction to Financial Accounting, and Accountancy 1B, an Introduction to Management Accounting.

Year 2:
You will study Business Research Methods I: Introduction to Data Analysis and Career Development Planning. Your other courses will include Introduction to Corporate Finance and Applications of Finance. You can also choose from the following courses: Organisational Behaviour; Business Economics; HR Management; International Business; Marketing; Business Analytics and Information Systems; Business Simulation; Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Year 3:
You will study Strategic Management and Business Research Methods II: Applications and Analysis. In addition you will choose more specialist courses in business and finance.

Year 4:
You will study further specialist courses in business and finance and will complete a dissertation on a topic closely linked to your programme.

2025 entry requirements

Standard entry:
5 Highers at AAAAA (by end of S5 preferred) plus English at National 5 at C and Maths at B.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at ABBB (by end of S6) plus English at National 5 at C and Maths at B. Highers at BBB must be achieved at first sitting in S5.
