Want to amplify your creativity while you work towards a formal sound qualification? During this course, you’ll work with the latest industry-standard digital audio tools used in sound production and post-production in music, film and TV. You'll have access to your own machine and you’ll spend time in a commercial recording studio, working on a variety of exciting projects. There’s also a chance to do sound for live events, and you’ll get a great insight into the role of sound production in the creative industries.

Subjects include:
Audio Skills; DAW Digital Audio Workstations; Recording, Mixing and Mastering; Sound for Live Events, Audio Post Production; Music Theory; Acoustics; Spatial Recording and Reproduction; Music Business.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers (1 at B) preferably from English, Computing Science, Music and Physics, or NC Sound Production (Level 6). Interview.

Entry directly to year 2 of HND Sound Production is possible should you hold at least 15 credits from either year one from another centre or a HNC in Sound Production.

Progression Routes

Degree level study. The college has strong links with Glasgow Caledonian University, Edinburgh Napier University and Glasgow School of Art.
