Business enterprise is about the creation of value. This course focuses on the ability of entrepreneurship to challenge the norm and disrupt established markets through the creation of new ventures.
This programme will allow you to develop an awareness of academic and practitioner perspectives and apply them in real-life settings. It will also give you real-world skills that are highly valued in a competitive employment market.
Year 1
Gain an understanding of entrepreneurship and its ability to change industries, markets and society, introducing the vocabulary, concepts and practice of enterprise; take part in Entrepreneurial Mindset – a group assignment to give you real-life experience of creating value through entrepreneurial activity.
Year 2
Key entrepreneurial processes are introduced through core classes with an important experiential component: Innovation Management and New Venture Planning.
Year 3
Examine entrepreneurial processes and enterprising skills in different settings and stages of enterprise growth; classes include Entrepreneurial Capital and Strategy and Growth.
Year 4
Advance into applied specialisms of; Issues and Trends, International Entrepreneurship, Family Business, Entrepreneurial Leadership and Writing for Publications.
2027 entry requirements
Standard entry:
4 or 5 Highers at AAAA or AAABB (first sitting) or 6 Highers at AAAABB (two sittings) including English plus Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5 at B.
Widening access entry:
4 Highers at ABBB (first sitting) or 5 Highers at AABBB (two sittings) including English plus Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5 at B.
A Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of a non-essential Higher.
