Fife College was formed in August 2013 from the merger of Adam Smith, Carnegie College and the non landbased department of Scotland's Rural College (SRUC).

The main campuses are in Dunfermline (Halbeath), Kirkcaldy (St Brycedale and Priory), Glenrothes (Stenton), Levenmouth and Rosyth, with a network of local learning centres throughout Fife. There are 6,000 full time and 14,000 part time students. A new campus in Dunfermline on the Shepherd Offshore site is planned.

Courses and subjects

The college offers over 1,000 education and training courses at a range of different levels, including National Certificates (NCs), Higher National Certificates (HNCs), Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), degrees and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs).

As well as providing a route to university (with some HNDs offering direct access to year 3 of a degree), the college also offers the opportunity to study for a full degree locally, saving you money on living costs and travel expenses, or allowing you to fit your degree around your other commitments.

There is a wide range of subjects including: Access to Qualifications, Further Study and Higher Education; Administration, Information Technology and Legal Services; Built Environment; Business, Enterprise and Accounting; Care and Social Sciences; Childcare; Community and Supported Learning; Computing and Digital Technologies; Creative Industries; Culinary Arts and Hospitality; Engineering and Energy; Hair, Beauty and Make-Up Artistry; Languages and ESOL; Mathematics; Science; Sport and Fitness; and Tourism, Events and Customer Service.

65% of students go on to further study or employment, and 65% of students successfully achieved recognised qualifications. Their courses provide you with relevant work ready skills to get you the job you want.

Facilities and services

There are libraries, student support and guidance teams, student support and guidance teams, student association, cafes, bistros and restaurants, available across all campuses. In addition there is a theatre at St Brycedale, hair, beauty and holistic therapy salons located at Cupar, Halbeath, Stenton and St Brycedale Campuses, and a fully equipped gym with sports hall and fitness studio, also at St Brycedale.

Specialisms

The college have a number of specialisms but place particular focus on the key employment sectors in the region, including Construction, Engineering, Digital Technologies, the Service Industry and Food and Drink.
