Fife College is located in the east of Scotland and has five main campuses in Dunfermline (Halbeath), Kirkcaldy (St Brycedale), Glenrothes (Stenton), Levenmouth and Rosyth, with a network of local learning centres throughout Fife.
Fife college is home to around 20,000 students and 1,000 staff.
Courses and subjects
The college offers over 400 courses across different subject areas at a range of different levels, including NC, HNC, HND, SVQ and degrees. There are over 505 progression routes to a degree through the college's partnerships with universities throughout the country.
There is a wide range of subjects split into different departments: Access Courses; Administration, Office Technologies and Legal Services; Art, Design, and Jewellery; Business, Enterprise and Accounting; Childhood Studies; Community-Based Learning; Construction and Built Environment; Creative Media; Culinary Arts; Digital, Computing and Cyber; Engineering and Energy; ESOL; Hair, Beauty and Make-Up Artistry; Health and Social Care; Mathematics; Performing Arts; Science; Social Sciences; Sport and Fitness; and Tourism, Events and Hospitality.
Facilities and services
There are libraries, student support and guidance teams, student associations, cafes, bistros and restaurants, available across all campuses. In addition there is a theatre at St Brycedale, hair, beauty and holistic therapy salons located at Halbeath, Stenton and St Brycedale Campuses, and a fully equipped gym with sports hall and fitness studio, also at St Brycedale. Other training facilities include construction and engineering workshops, training kitchens, recording studio and radio station, and an aircraft cabin.
The state of the art Dunfermline Learning Campus is in development and will open in phases from 2024/25. It will include industry-standard workshops for engineering and construction, a university hub, training cafe, sports hall and events hub. New outdoor facilities will include multi-use sports area, spaces for childcare courses, dining areas for hospitality students and covered workshops for built environment courses.
The college also has an award-winning Students' Association.
Specialisms
The college has a number of specialisms but places focus on the key employment sectors in the region, including construction, engineering, and digital technologies.
The Carnegie Business School offers professional qualifications and training courses in business, management and leadership.
