Forth Valley College has three main campuses, based at Falkirk, Alloa and Stirling, and a community college campus, which is based in the Raploch area of Stirling. There are also a number of outreach centres across the region.
There are around 14,500 students per academic session with 94% progressing to further study or employment. The college has over 40 articulation agreements with Scottish Universities.
Courses and Subjects
The college offers more than 750 full time, part time and distance learning courses in further and higher education, ranging from NC to degree level.
Courses are taught through the following departments: Art and Design; Bakery; Business; Care; Childcare; Community Learning; Computing; Construction; Creative Industries and Media; Degrees; Engineering; Events Management; First Aid; Hair and Beauty; Health and Safety; Highers; Hospitality and Cookery; Languages; Management; Photography; Psychology; Science; Sound Production; Sport; Supported Learning; and Tourism.
Facilities and Services
Resources available at the campuses include Access and Student Support Teams, Learning Resource Centres, quiet rooms, a counselling service, computer clinic and the Student Association.
There is also the Gallery Training Restaurant (Stirling campus), hair and beauty salons (Alloa, Falkirk and Raploch campuses) and fully equipped fitness suites (all campuses except Raploch).
Specialisms
The college has strong links with petrochemical and chemical companies based in the Falkirk area and offer courses in engineering, chemical process technology and petrochemical operations. £1.2 million has been invested in creating state-of-the-art oil and gas facilities.
