This course is a first step for those looking to start a career as a nurse or in the health care sector. It is designed to help you reach your potential and give you the confidence and skills for success in a college or university course. If you've few or no formal qualifications and have been out of full-time education for a period of time you could be eligible for this course.

You'll be introduced to various healthcare subjects to enable you to progress to a university degree or a health-related field at HNC level. The course also develops confidence, core skills to maximise chances of successful progression to higher education. You'll learn through groupwork, lectures, industry visits and guest speakers.

Entry Requirements

You must be out of education for at least 5 years with no current entry requirements. Entry is based on interview and a satisfactory reference.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
