This course is an SQA qualification that aims to meet the challenges of employers seeking qualified learners who can demonstrate knowledge and skills in a range of technology areas. The course places particular emphasis on software engineering, web development, networking, data science, project management and soft skills such as team-working.

Units include:

Developing Software: Introduction; Systems Development Introduction; Computer System Fundamentals; Computer Networking: Fundamentals; Troubleshooting Computing Problems; Web Development: Dynamically Generated Content; Big Data; Team working in Computing; Managing a Web Server.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher plus 2 subjects at National 5, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry by interview.
