This multidisciplinary course consists of a range of mechanical, electrical and systems units and is designed for maximum flexibility and develops the knowledge and skills gained from the HNC Engineering Systems.

Mandatory units are:
Business awareness and continuing professional development; Design for manufacture; Engineering systems analysis: system modelling and control; Engineering systems: graded unit 2; Engineering: practical skills; Mathematics for engineering 2; Principles of safe engineering systems; Project management: managing the implementation of a project.

Optional units may include:
Fundamentals of control systems and transducers; Quality management: an introduction; Sequential logic; Single phase AC circuits; Three phase systems; Heat transfer and fluid mechanics; Power electronics; Renewable energy store: hydrogen; Renewable energy systems: technology; Renewable energy systems: wind power; Renewable energy systems: wave and tidal energy; Mathematics for engineering 3.
