This two-year, full-time HND Music (Bass) course develops you as a professional bass guitarist ready for today’s music industry. You’ll gain extensive performance experience, build your technical ability, and work collaboratively with other musicians across styles and genres.

You’ll record, compose, and perform in professional studios and venues across the city, gaining the practical and creative skills you need to succeed as a confident performer or session musician.

You’ll explore a mix of practical, theoretical, and creative modules designed to strengthen both your musicianship and your industry understanding, including:

First Study – Bass Guitar; Live Performance; Digital Audio Workstations; Music Theory & Harmony; Songwriting & Composition; Music Business for Musicians; Music History & Context.

Entry Requirements

Higher Music, or NQ Music - Bass (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry by interview and audition. Grade 5 or above in the chosen instrument from Trinity Rock School, London College of Music or ABRSM.

Progression Routes

Possible progression to degree level course.
