If you’d like to learn the processes, technologies and skills involved in the world of sound recording and audio production, this course will be music to your ears. You’ll be shown how to record music using microphones and line input devices, before transferring the audio to an industry-standard Digital Audio Workstation to arrange, edit and mix into a song. You’ll also learn the underpinning acoustic principles, apply audio to video within post-production, explore how to use MIDI to compose music, using the computer as your orchestra, and get hands-on experience installing and operating a live sound system.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5. English, Computing Science, Music and Physics is preferred. Or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
