The NC Sound Production course will develop your skills in audio technology and will introduce you to a wide array of areas within the world of sound. You will record music using microphones and line input devices, then transfer this audio to an industry standard Digital Audio Workstation to arrange, edit and mix into a song. You will learn how to utilise MIDI, so you can compose music, using the computer as your orchestra. You will learn how to install and use a live sound system, in order to reinforce music and speech in this creative and practical course.

Recording; Live Sound; MIDI Sequencing; Audio Editing; Signal Path; Remixing; Music Business; Music Appreciation; Music Promotion; Radio Programming.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5. English, Computing Science, Music or Physics is preferred. Or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
